The EcoFlow Delta 2 and Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 are two of the most popular mid-range portable power stations on the market. Both sit in the 1,000Wh class and target the same buyer: someone who wants reliable power for camping, home backup, or remote work. But they take different approaches to get there.
Design and Build
Both units feature a rectangular design with handles on top. The Delta 2 is noticeably heavier at 27 lbs compared to the Explorer 1000 v2 at 24.2 lbs. That three-pound difference matters when loading gear into a car or carrying it to a campsite.
The Jackery has a signature orange-and-black look that is instantly recognizable. EcoFlow goes with a more understated dark gray. Both feel solid and well-built with no creaking or flex.
Capacity and Output
This is where the Delta 2 pulls ahead. It packs 1,024Wh of LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery capacity with 1,800W of output (surge to 2,700W with X-Boost). The Jackery delivers 1,070Wh with 1,000W continuous output.
That extra output headroom means the Delta 2 can handle more demanding appliances like a small coffee maker or a space heater on low, while the Jackery tops out at lighter loads.
Charging Speed
EcoFlow's fast-charging technology is a clear differentiator. The Delta 2 goes from 0 to 80% in about 50 minutes via AC wall charging. The Jackery takes roughly 2 hours for the same charge level. For solar charging, the Delta 2 accepts up to 500W input versus the Jackery's 200W.
If solar recharging is a priority, the Delta 2's higher input ceiling lets you use larger panel arrays and refill faster on sunny days.
Which Should You Buy?
The Delta 2 wins on raw capability. More output, faster charging, and expandable battery support make it the more versatile unit. The Jackery counters with a lighter frame, a lower price point, and a simpler interface that some users prefer. If budget is tight and your power needs are moderate, the Explorer 1000 v2 does the job well. For everything else, the Delta 2 is the better investment.
